In the year 2015, if somebody would have told me that studying abroad, preparing for entrance exams of the universities would not be valued after 10 years, I would have never wasted money and nearly 3.5 years of my career studying Masters in Australia! Well, okay, but why am I getting this thought now?
I watched TRS podcast of Ranveer Allahbadia ft.Mr. Basesh Gala who himself has achieved multiple degrees in his life including Engineering Diploma, Bachelors of Engineering, Research in IIT, Certification in Finance, and MBA gold medalist!
I was astounded by knowing a person with such broad range of education is mentioning that the education might not be valued in India in this Kaliyug 2.0. But when I listened to the complete podcast, I gotten into the wide spectrum of today’s reality that shows its just not an education (yes it is important) but the talent with right mindset and attitude help us to build our lives from nowhere to somewhere to everywhere.
In this fastest growing economy, surprisingly, there are bunch of people especially the Gen-Zs who don’t want to work hard or at all, they want the shortcuts, easy money without struggles, and the luxury without having to pay for it. What do you think would they be able to survive longer?
In this podcast, he has provided numerous examples of successful entrepreneurs, businesses and their success stories. How with no money or little money they have built an empire. The way he has highlighted the importance of being an ethical and the spiritual in whatever we do, can value add in not just individual lives but gradually in the society.
According to him lot of things have changed in India since 2020 pandemic from where the Kaliyug 2.0 has started. There were massive successes, spiritual awakenings at some point in time, but the other part of the story is 80% of Gen Zs from business families whose net worth is more than 500 crores, are not willing to work.
They heavily rely on generational wealth, constantly seeking the shortest path to make money either through social media platforms or through other channels. I absolutely second this thought that we are really into an era where people including Gen Zs are not interested in this stereotypical approach of success.
When I came back from Australia in June- 2019, I didn’t have my Masters degree as yet, neither had any plans of starting the career from where it was ended. I had my little girl with me all the time. When pandemic first hit in other countries there were news on socials media, but in India we were not bothering or there wasn’t much awareness about it.
In Septemeber -2019 I finally received my masters degree and I started looking for market opportunities for my first job after masters, at the same time pandemic started in 2020. Nevertheless, with lot patience and back to back interviews I landed into my first job in the same year.
It was dual situation of happiness and a bit of anxiety working after nearly 4 years with the Honda, client in Japan, in new company, and WFH culture.
For all IT businesses this was golden time and opportunity to increase the productivity by reducing the cost of expenses/maintenance. Many businesses started and ended, many survived, many went through losses, but those who were had growing mindset and attitude, willingness to learn new things, acquiring knowledge, skills and experiences they utilised their expertise and thrived.
Now, peculiarly, want to understand how does spirituality work when we look at the numbers! Businesses are all about the numbers, calculations which has nothing to do with spirituality, right? Wrong!
I was blown away when he associated it in simple, The Three Valuables!

Wow! that was splendid.
I can very much co-relate this with my situation and experiences I was going through during pandemic. His equation of connecting spirituality with family disputes, especially in the business family is something very important to understand.
To simplify further, when we pray, worship, or even meditate we stimulate the hormones, or in simple words happy hormones, but if there is constant pressure, stress, doubts around us create bad/sad harmon which aren’t not just harmful to us but to people or the family members around us. This simple yet effective approach we forget and keep creating nuisance which kills creativity, creates misunderstanding, and brings anxiety, anger etc.
Since 2020, till today we can certainly imagine how the things have changed, and the new angel of AI has evolved the businesses, workplaces, the ecosystem, and at certain extent our lives. I alone, have hoped twice in last 5 years, and landed in the third company, blessed to work on multiple projects including automotive, logistics, e-commerce, business automation, and now AI.
I could consume many things in these 5 years which were incredibly taught me the people management, emotional intelligence and building skills at different levels. All this could possible only due to spirituality. I can certainly co-relate to what he has mentioned in this podcast that its not just an education but its your skills, passion and willingness to work hard, with emotional intelligence that helps us balances the challenges and opportunities is what brings success, growth and happiness.
